Assistant Director of Football Sports Performance Join to apply for the Assistant Director of Football Sports Performance role at Northwestern University Assistant Director of Football Sports Performance Join to apply for the Assistant Director of Football Sports Performance role at Northwestern University Department: Univ Athletics-Condition Ctr Salary/Grade: EXS/31 Job Summary The Assistant Director of Football Performance reports to the Director of Football Performance and assists in all aspects of sports performance for football student-athletes. *Willingness and ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. * Note: Not all aspects of the job are covered by this job description. Specific Responsibilities Develops football strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes with review from the Director of Football Sports Performance. Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for football as instructed by the Director of Football Sports Performance. Responsible for strength testing and evaluation as assigned. Responsible for strength and conditioning programs which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise techniques. Effectively communicates with athletic trainers and coaches on exercise protocol. Promotes the football sports performance program at Northwestern University at requested times including but not limited to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Represents the Department at University, Big Ten Conference, and national-level conferences and professional development opportunities as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and training. Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. Minimum Competencies Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA or CSCCA Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association before employment starting date and maintained throughout appointment Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training required Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact with others Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred Preferred Competencies Previous strength and conditioning coaching experience with collegiate student-athletes preferred Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred Target hiring range for this position will be between $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
