As the Biostatistics Leader - Immunology, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across all Biostatisticians within Immunology, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing sub-function that drives excellence in service of our larger global Biostatistics strategy through study design, data analysis, and insights generation. You will report to the Global Head of Biostatistics, responsible for leading and ensuring the overall performance of the Biostatistic team serving the Immunology area in their delivery against the portfolio. Your role will be instrumental in informing clinical design, in partnership with all therapeutic area-aligned Biostatistics TA Leaders. You will drive excellence in Biostatistics in Immunology by partnering cross-functionally across PD Data Sciences & Analytics (PD-DSA) to support portfolio delivery and partner closely with other Biostatistics TA Leaders on common issues impacting all therapeutic areas and Biostatistics teams at Roche. You will lead a global, high-performing organization of approximately 20-50 Biostatisticians, with direct reports being a team of directors and above. Responsibilities include developing and setting clear PD-DSA strategy and goals aligned with Roche’s broader objectives, embedding strategic imperatives of Data, Digital/AI, and Design, acting as a role model fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement, defining clear accountability, providing strategic leadership and oversight for Immunology Biostatistics strategy, ensuring biostatistical considerations are integrated early in study designs, partnering with senior leadership across PD-DSA, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and data science teams, representing statistical expertise in therapy area-level governance, acting as primary liaison between Biostatistics and key stakeholders, ensuring collaboration with external partners, overseeing data analysis and insights generation strategies, fostering continuous learning and adoption of AI technologies, maintaining standards and best practices, leading and developing a high-performing global team, establishing performance metrics, promoting a culture of accountability and innovation, and partnering with P&C and leadership to attract and retain top talent. Requirements include PhD or advanced degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Mathematics, more than 10 years of senior-level experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with emphasis in TA and TA-enabling strategy, in-depth knowledge of GCP and regulations, thorough understanding of drug development lifecycle, experience with new data types and analytics, track record of successful partnerships, willingness to adopt new technologies, strong communication skills, English proficiency, and international travel estimated at 20%. Relocation benefits are available. Salary range for South San Francisco location is $250,800.00 - $465,800.00 USD annually, with actual pay based on experience and other factors, plus discretionary annual bonus and benefits.
