Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins is a progressive member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 20 (Greater Silver Spring, Takoma Park, White Oak). Delegate Wilkins serves as the Vice Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee and Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland. Position reports to : Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins

Compensation: The pay range for this full time position with full state benefits is $52,000 - $60,000.

Role:

• Manage Delegate Wilkins’ calendar and scheduling
• Track and respond to constituent correspondence to provide responsive service
• Staff and/or represent the Delegate at various events and meetings.
• Participate in community meetings and events with constituents and stakeholders to foster open communication and engagement.
• Plan and support events and activities that relate to legislative and community priorities.
• Track and manage Delegate Wilkins’ legislation.
• Conduct policy and legislative research.
• Manage and supervise interns, legislative aides, or other staff.
• Manage the annual Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins Scholarship application and process awards.
• Develop electronic newsletters to communicate with constituents.
• Additional duties, as assigned

Must-have:

● Ability to work full-time flexible hours (at least 40 hours total per week). Some weekends and evenings are required.

● Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

● Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently.

● Access to transportation to get around District 20, Annapolis, and the surrounding communities.
