Casey County Hospital and Jane Todd Crawford Hospital, two community-focused healthcare providers in Liberty and Greensburg, Kentucky, are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing and Public Relations . This full-time, weekday position offers the exciting opportunity to shape our public image and connect with the communities we serve, with occasional evening and weekend flexibility required for special events or deadlines.

About the Role:

The Director of Marketing and Public Relations is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies that enhance our hospitals' reputation, reach, and community engagement. You'll be the voice of our organizations, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all platforms.

What You'll Do:

Marketing & Public Relations Leadership:

• Strategize & Implement: Design, implement, and measure the success of a robust marketing, communications, and public relations program that elevates our image and position within the marketplace and general public.
• Brand Champion: Ensure our desired image and position are clearly articulated and consistently communicated across all communities we serve.
• Content Creation: Oversee the editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all organizational publications, including our websites.
• Media Relations: Coordinate media interest, proactively engage with target media, and serve as the primary organizational spokesperson.
• Brand Consistency: Maintain and coordinate the appearance of all organizational print and electronic materials, including letterhead, logo usage, and brochures.
• Program Development: Develop, coordinate, and oversee marketing and PR programs, technical assistance, and resource materials.
• Market Research: Lead and coordinate relevant market research initiatives to inform our strategies.
• Executive Support: Coordinate and assist the CEO with public appearances, presentations, and other high-profile events.
• Special Projects: Lead assigned projects such as cause-related marketing campaigns and special events.

Operational Excellence & Planning:

• Budget Management: Develop and manage short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing/communications/public relations program, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
• Industry Trends: Stay informed of the latest developments and best practices in marketing, communications, and public relations.
• Community Events: Coordinate the hospital’s annual health fair and other hospital-wide functions as directed by the CEO.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Emergency Preparedness: Represent the hospitals on the Region 10 HRSA Homeland Security Directors Committee and serve as the hospital’s contact for the NIMS (National Incident Management System), including updating and maintaining the EM Resource Database.
• Grant Writing: Research, write, and apply for grant funding for the hospital, including appropriate applications for State and Federal projects.
• Risk Management: Direct the Hospital’s Risk Management Program, including managing incident reports, maintaining permanent files, and collaborating with legal counsel on risk management issues. Keep the CEO regularly advised and updated on all risk management matters.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, healthcare administration/communications, or public relations. A graduate degree in a related field is a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of demonstrated success in marketing, healthcare administration/communications, or public relations, preferably within the not-for-profit or association sector. Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Exceptional self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • A strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in personal computer operation and relevant software.

Work Environment:

You'll enjoy a generally pleasant working environment, but must be adaptable to working occasional odd hours to meet deadlines and be available for travel as needed.

Casey County Hospital is a 24-bed critical access hospital located in Liberty, Ky. This is a dual position shared with Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Ky., which is a 25-bed facility. Both are located in southcentral Kentucky.
