Job Description
Location: Tampa, FL
Reports to: VP, Strategic Partnerships & Innovation
Salary: $125 - $145k with bonus and based on experience
Are you a powerhouse project leader who thrives on structure, accountability, and proactive influence?
Ascend Technologies Group is looking for a strategic, entrepreneurial Senior Program Manager to lead the delivery of data-driven, high-impact projects for one of our brands in Life Sciences - MiBA . If you can command a room, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and bring startup-level hustle, we want you on our team.
About The Role:
As Senior Program Manager, you will serve as the operational backbone across a portfolio of life sciences clients (pharma, biopharma, payors, and oncology practices). You’ll drive execution by aligning internal teams and external partners around clear goals, timelines, and deliverables. This role requires exceptional organizational acumen, a polished executive presence, and a passion for delivering results. You’ll ensure that projects are scoped, planned, and executed to the highest standards - while flagging risks early and surfacing opportunities to expand MiBA’s impact.
You’ll work cross-functionally with delivery, commercial, product, and data science teams to ensure seamless coordination and client satisfaction. In addition to managing timelines and communications, you’ll think strategically about the lifecycle of each engagement, identifying how we can consistently deliver more value and deepen our partnerships.
What Success Looks Like:
- You don’t just manage timelines — you actively look for ways to enhance value, uncover risks and opportunities, and strengthen our customer relationships.
- You know our products, services, and pipeline well enough to recognize when a customer need or conversation could lead to cross-selling or upselling - and you flag these opportunities to leadership.
- You operate as the voice of the customer internally and the face of MiBA externally, ensuring we deliver projects that strengthen our partnerships and grow our reputation.
- You lead with confidence, keep everyone informed, and never wait to be told what to do when you see a way to improve results or mitigate a risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the central point of contact for customer deliveries, managing all aspects of project execution, timelines, and risk registers for life sciences clients (pharma, biopharma, payors, practices).
- Deliver weekly status reports to customers and internal stakeholders, providing clear updates on project progress, risks, and milestones to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Utilize Smartsheet and Jira with high competency to plan, track, and manage project workflows, ensuring timelines are met and risks are proactively mitigated.
- Prepare and deliver polished, executive-level presentations and updates that distill complex program activities into clear business insights and impact.
- Take ultimate ownership of project outcomes, proactively identifying and addressing challenges before they escalate, with a forward-thinking, solution-oriented approach.
- Lead cross-functional syncs and internal standups to ensure communication is consistent and that handoffs between departments (e.g., data science, technical leads, operations, product, commercial) are seamless.
- Collaborate with leadership to align on strategic goals and ensure delivery timelines, customer expectations, and internal priorities remain coordinated.
- Anticipate customer needs and project risks, and propose mitigation strategies early, maintaining a delivery-ready mindset at every phase of the project lifecycle.
- Command meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders alike, establishing confidence and clarity through professional presence and communication.
- Act as an advocate for MiBA’s value by developing a deep understanding of our products, services, and pipeline; identify opportunities during customer engagement to enhance or expand our partnership footprint.
- ·Engage customers as a trusted advisor, proactively surfacing insights, risks, and additional ways MiBA can help solve their challenges.
- Go beyond task execution to champion outcomes, anticipating what customers will need next and preparing the organization to meet those needs.
What We're Looking For:
- 7+ years of program management experience, with a proven track record of managing complex, customer-facing projects in a fast-paced life sciences or healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Smartsheet and Jira for project planning, tracking, and reporting, with an ability to develop structured, transparent workflows.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with life sciences stakeholders (e.g., pharma executives, practice leaders).
- Proactive, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented mindset, with an entrepreneurial ownership mentality; naturally inclined to take initiative, speak up, and advocate for what customers and MiBA need to succeed.
- Business-savvy and commercially aware; understands the connection between program delivery and broader customer value and can spot opportunities to expand MiBA’s impact.
- Fast learner and high performer, ready to jump in and make an immediate impact on project delivery and target achievement.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional and confident demeanor with the ability to represent MiBA as the face of delivery for high-profile accounts.
- Familiarity with life sciences, including pharma, biopharma, payors, and oncology practices, and an understanding of their unique project needs (e.g., data compliance, clinical workflows).
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in oncology, real-world data, clinical trial enablement, or data delivery in a startup or high-growth environment.
- PMP or similar certification.
- Experience supporting HIPAA, or FDA-regulated data projects.
