The Judge Group is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia.

Emergency Department RN – Travel Assignment (Salem, VA)

Shift & Scheduling

• Shift Type: Night | 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekends Required: Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period
  • Nights: Friday or Saturday
  • Days: Saturday or Sunday
• On-Call Requirements: None

Unit Information

• Beds: 27
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 2-3 medics; increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM , and 1-2 RNs at 3 PM
  • Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 2-3 medics
• Patient Ratios: 4-6:1
• EMR System: Meditech

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Required Experience:

• Completion of 2-3 prior travel assignments
• 2-3 years ER experience

Preferred Experience:

• High acuity ER experience
• Fast-paced ER experience with high patient volume
• Experience managing patient ratios of 5:1

Typical Procedures Performed

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Care of psych patients
• Facility transfers (EMTALA compliance)

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required
• ACLS (AHA) – Required
• PALS (AHA) – Required

Preferred Certifications

• TNCC – Preferred
• ENPC – Preferred
• NRP – Preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification – Preferred

Dress Code
